News Northridge Dentist, Alan R. Stein, Granted Fellowship into the American College of Dentists Oldest National Honorary Dental Organization NORTHRIDGE, Calif., - October 8, 2009 – On October 1, 2009, local dentist, Alan R. Stein was inducted into the American College of Dentists at the American Dental Association’s 150th Annual Session held in Honolulu Hawaii.

The American College of Dentists (ACD) is the oldest national honorary organization for dentists. Dr. Stein was one of 16 dentists from California and one of 178 dentists from the United States and Canada inducted this year. All ACD members have exemplified excellence through outstanding leadership and exceptional contributions to dentistry and society.

The American College of Dentists is nonprofit and apolitical, and has long been regarded as the "conscience of dentistry.” Membership in the American College of Dentists is by invitation only. There are over 7,400 Fellows, active and retired. Fellows are selected based on their contributions to organized dentistry, oral health care, dental research, dental education, the profession, and society. Approximately 3.5% of dentists are Fellows of the American College of Dentists.

Northridge Hospital Gets Over $10,000.00 in Donations From Local Dentist's Office Grand Opening Charity Event NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- On September 17, the City of Los Angeles recognized local dentist, Alan R. Stein with a plaque for hosting the 'Reasons to Smile' benefit at the grand opening of his new office. The Northridge Hospital Foundation received $10,195.00 as a result of the event.

The charity event, 'Reasons to Smile,' was an expose of dental and medical awareness, constructed to raise funds for the Northridge Hospital Medical Center. Supporters of the event included Sirona Dental Systems, the Northridge Hospital Medical Center, Color Images Print and Copy, Aetna Insurance, www.TheDentalInsider.com, Edible Arrangements, Discus Dental, DaVinci Laboratory, Patterson Dental and Nobel Biocare.

Guests at the event showed their support by engaging in the raffle and silent auction. Notable donors included Patterson Dental, Don Kobashigowa D.D.S. of Toluca Lake Dentistry and The Aetna Foundation which donated $5,000.00.
